Golf Injury + Performance

The Shire’s only dedicated golf performance facility!

At Shire Spine & Sport, we LOVE all sports, but golf is one of our passions.
We help golfers of all levels improve their on-course performance by addressing the physical factors that actually limit the golf swing – mobility, strength, sequencing and power.

We are proud to operate the only dedicated golf performance facility in the Sutherland Shire, combining clinical expertise, performance testing and training and industry-leading technology under one roof.

Who is this for?

Anyone who wants to play better golf, or feels like their body is stopping them improving their play out on the course. This service is tailored specifically to the individual and is ideal for golfers who:

  • Feel stuck despite practicing more

  • Struggle with consistency or distance

  • Have recurring back, hip, shoulder or elbow pain/injuries

  • Want to increase their clubhead speed safely

  • Are returning to golf from injury or surgery

  • Want to play more golf with less pain

  • Are serious about long-term improvement, not quick fixes

If your body is the handbrake, no swing tip will fix it.

Why your body matters more than another swing tip…

Youtube and Instagram are full of swing advice – but those drills only work if your body can access the positions they require. If not, you may be doing more harm than good.

  • Common limitations we see include:

  • Restricted hip or thoracic rotation

  • Poor force production through the ground

  • Early extension driven by mobility restrictions

  • Overuse injuries from compensations

  • Strength deficits limiting speed and control

Our role is to identify what part of your body is holding you back, then build a plan to change it.

Golf specific assessment

Every golfer starts with a comprehensive golf performance assessment built on the TPI framework. Our clinic owner Dylan has completed multiple accreditations across medical and power, and Michael is a TPI certified strength coach as well. This means that your program is golf-specific, individualised, progressed safely and built around YOUR swing, goals and history. The nature of the assessment will depend on your goals, but they can include:

  • TPI movement screen

  • Golf-specific mobility and stability testing

  • Strength and power profiling

  • Injury history and rehab review

  • Swing speed/swing characteristics assessment.

Technology driven. No guesswork

We integrate industry-leading technology to measure and track progress.

Trackman:
When it comes to golf simulators, Trackman stands alone as the golf standard. We use Trackman to link physical limitations to swing outcomes, monitor changes in speed, contact and consistency; and validate that physical improvements are transferring to your performance.

VALD Systems:
VALD force plates and dynamometer are to performance testing, what Trackman is to simulators – the best of the best. We use them to assess strength, power and asymmetries, guide return to play decisions, reduce injury risk and track progress over time with data, not guesswork.
